EFFORTS WERE BEEN MADE TO RESTORE THE FAST ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND STATUS OF KANO STATE POLYTECHNIC – PROF. KURAWA.

The Rector Kano State polytechnic Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa says when he was appointed March 2016, as the Rector, the institution completely affected by academic set-back, most of the institution activities had crippled to the extent that even day-to-day fuelling and maintenance of vehicles, generating plants etc, could not be made.
He says the infrastructure of the institution are seriously dilapidated, crying for attention.
He says the accreditation which is the Paramount importance for the sustenance of any institution hard been neglected, reached to the extent that if urgent measures are not taken would lead to the closure of some programmes, and the institution result/certificates may no longer recognized by JAMB, NYSC, Advance studies and employment.
Prof. Kurawa said, the reconstituted management under a unified structure has instantly swung into action with a view to justifying the confidence reposed in it by the Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje administration, which has brought about significant changes administratively and academically.
He said with students registration and sales of admission forms the school finances have improved and the institution are now paying monthly casual allowances, school subventions, departmental allocations and other day-to-day running expenditures.
He said in terms of infrastructure development, the institution have recorded a positive achievement through TETFund interventions where some capital projects were constructed.
On Accreditation, the Rector said, with the intervention of the state government 51 programmes were successful accredited by national board for technical education (NBTE), and became fully accredited.
The board also approved mounting of Fifteen (15 ) new programmes.
On Academic activities, he said since the inception of the present management, efforts were been made to restore the fast academic excellence and status of the institution.
Prof. Kurawa commend the Kano state government, his management team for the support and cooperation giving to the institution which brought significant achievements.
